Born in Montreal to John and Marguerite McCulloch (both deceased) on October 11, 1934, he was raised by his Mother and Grandmother in a loving home that instilled graciousness, good manners and a strong work ethic.
He earned his own money from a very young age helping the baker deliver his goods (by horse and buggy as he tells it!). Graham studied architectural design at Parsons School of Design in New York City, and worked for many years in Montreal in that field before establishing his own design firm, Multi Concept. He came to Halifax in 1979 on a six month contract, but liked it so much he decided to stay. He embraced the Maritime way of life, and made many lifelong friends. Graham loved all things 'new'.... new tools, new technology, new gadgets; always curious. He loved working with his hands, whether it was design work, building furniture, a patio, or doing some carving, he was happiest in his shop surrounded by sawdust. This interest led to a column on woodworking, and five books which sold around the world. Graham was the 'cruise director' of many fun filled events - whether it was a tubing festival on the Gaspereau River, a pot luck supper, or weekends in Stillwater with friends, he was the one who got the ball rolling and made it happen. He loved being in the midst of his friends and family, and enjoying everyone's company. He had a warm, welcoming personality and a quick smile.
Graham is survived by his wife Gwen, brother in law Michael (Doris) Halifax, sister in law Sharon, Saratoga Springs, New York, special nephew Jim Wilson (Louise), Montreal, and many other loving nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his children Kelly Ann, Sharon and Chris and their families.
