Born in 1926, the same year as the Queen and Marilyn, he was the son of John McLeod and Lydia (Penny) McLeod.
George served in the War from 1944 – 1946, in the Navy on three different ships. Later serving with the Bedford Ammo Depot.
He was also known as a Hockey Star, and signed a contract with the Montreal Canadians. He played and coached numerous teams.
George also spent a small stint of 15 years living in Florida, USA.
He was also an avid supporter of HMCS Sackville, Red Cross, The Salvation Army, and St. John’s Church.
George was close friends with Anna and David Richard (Greek side of the family).
George is pre-deceased by his wife of 74 years, Dorothy (Nelson).
George is survived by his Sons, Mike (Maggie) and Stewart (Darlene); Grandchildren, Eric, Michelle, D’Evan, and Chelsea; Great Grandchildren, Dominic, Pascale, Galberille, Sebastian, and Elijah.
