Frederick Day Mason

Fred grew up in Greenwood, Pictou Co., and graduated from East Pictou Rural High in 1961. He later attended Forest Ranger School in NB and graduated in 1964.

Fred married his high school sweetheart, Pat, on May 16, 1964.

He worked with the Halifax Water Commission as a Forest Ranger and later as a cab driver in Halifax. Fred was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survived by his wife, Pat; daughters, Anna Jean (Kenny), Lisa, Anita (Tony); son, Daniel (Natasha); brothers, John (Ann) Grant, Jim, Howard (Gerri) and Lawrence (Debbie); grandchildren, Samantha, Halle, Brooklyn, Chase, Eli, Olivia, Mason and Charlee; and great-granddaughter, Attison.

Predeceased by his parents, Shirley and Jean Mason.

Visitation Wednesday, June 1, from 5-8 pm and funeral service Thursday, June 2 at 11 AM, both in J.A. Snow Funeral Home, reception to follow. Burial in Thorburn Cemetery; second reception to follow burial in Thorburn Presbyterian Church.
