Born in Halifax to the parents of the late Walter and Maise (Jennex) Whittemore. She married the love of her life, Douglas Lane in 1950.
Survived by children Judy (Roddy) Jones and Donna (Gordon) Milne, Grandchildren Jennifer and Leslie Jones, Jonathan (Jennifer) and Stephanie Milne, Step Grandson Andrew (Sandra) Milne, Great-Grandchildren Emily Michaud and Hazel Milne, Step Great-Grandchildren Haylee and Cooper Milne, Brother George Whittemore, Sister In-law Marion Whittemore, and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her Husband Doug, Brothers Douglas and Donald (Kay) Whittemore, Sisters Ruth (Clarence) Blakeney and Helen (Jack) McAloney.
She attended Bloomfield School and worked at Sacks on Gottingen St, then Sears Catalog Shopping Center, from which she retired in 1988.
She was a founding and devout member of St. Margaret of Scotland Church. There, she enjoyed participating in many activities; church suppers, the Choir, the Ladies and Altar Guilds, bus tours with fellow members around Canada and the United States, and taking Emily to breakfasts with Santa. Outside of church, she engaged in many social activities; cards, bingo, and bowling. Above all, her greatest joy was her family and time spent with them.
Her generosity, selflessness, loving and caring nature, and sense of humour are among some of the many qualities for which she will be forever remembered. May she rest peacefully in the arms of her beloved husband, Doug.

Cremation has taken place. Funeral service to be arranged at a later date when gathering restrictions are lifted.
