Eva Kathleen Wolfe, 88, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 16, 2017, at the QEII Hospital in Halifax following a brief illness. Born July 6, 1928 in Halifax, she is predeceased by her parents, Roland and Adelia Marshall (Cochrane) of Halifax, and her late husband, George Frederick Wolfe of Halifax, who she met skating and forged a lasting relationship of 37 wonderful years. We are saddened but pleased that she is reunited with her husband, in a sunny, peaceful place.
Eva was a Registered Nurse, graduating from Halifax Children’s Hospital in 1949 and working at the HCH until she began to raise her family in Halifax.
She is survived by her 4 children, Frederick (Linda Wolfe) of Oakville, Ontario, Suzanne (Bob Baker), Donald (Lena Wolfe) and Gregory (Karla Wolfe) all of Bedford, brother Charles (Yvonne Marshall) of Halifax, sisters in law Audrey Brown (Dartmouth) and Jenny (Victor Settle, Kentville), and Aunt Marion MacLeod (Truro).
She was so proud of her 9 grandchildren and the joy they brought her over the years – Shannon (Anthony Leone, Oakville), Alison (Jarrod Pettipas, Bedford), Andrea (Adrian Fallow, Oakville), Gregory Baker (Edmonton), Alyssa (Kyle Sarka, Halifax), Brian Baker (Bonnyville), Taralyn (Brad Sullivan, Sackville), Samantha Wolfe (Bedford) and Sarah Wolfe (Bedford). Her family blessings continued to include 7 great-grandchildren – Hannah, Charlotte, Molly, Kennedy, Max, Owen and Tenley.
Mom was an avid reader, enjoyed travelling, knitting, puzzles, sewing, gardening and baking – her specialty being chocolate chip cookies. She was always ready to set another place at the table for anyone who happened to drop by.
Visitation will be held at Snow’s Funeral Home on 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax on Tuesday May 23rd, 2017 from 2-4 pm and 6:30-8:30 pm.
