Following a life filled with adventures, Eric Greenwood passed away on March 26th, 2018 in Halifax, Nova Scotia with his family by his side.
Eric grew up in Yorkshire during the war where he developed his strong sense of humour, love of tomato sandwiches and spent all of his pocket money courting his eventual wife of over sixty years. Although he was a man of simple pleasures, he lived an extraordinary life touching the lives of all of those he encountered.
As a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Eric was extremely accomplished. He was not one to brag or discuss his merits, but he inspired those around him including two of his grandchildren who happily followed in his footsteps by becoming Chartered Accountants.
Eric was a lover of life, finding inspiration from the world that he so happily travelled and worked in throughout his lifetime. He was a true world traveler with many worn passports covered in stamps from every corner of the world and believed that learning was paramount to a meaningful life.
Eric is survived by his loving wife, Christine Greenwood, two children Jillian and Jeremy Greenwood, six grandchildren Kyle, (Eric) Tristan, Keelyn, Eric, Torin and Hale and one great grandchild Vivian. He created the happiest of homes to come to and will be greatly missed by all.
A heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at Parkland who provided exceptional care to Eric and his family in a very challenging time.
Memorial services will be held at the Cathedral of All Saints in Halifax, Nova Scotia on April 4th, 2018 at 11:00 am.
