Wolfe, Dorothy Belle – My dear Aunt Dot: The depth of your courage, strength, love, and compassion that shined so brightly each day is helping me to deal with my emotions after your sudden and unexpected transition. As I look through things that meant so much to you, I understand even more how much your family meant to you.
I am deeply grateful for the 94 years of companionship with which you have gifted our family and the world. You are so well deserving of the reward of being reunited with your parents Hilda (Guest) and William; your sisters Ethel, Kathleen, Ruby (my mother), and Vera; your brothers Archie, Donald, Harold, Kenneth, Raymond, Willie, and the dear one lost at birth. Your incredible presence is strong in the lives of those who remain in this life: Myself and my wife Oxana, your sister Margaret and dear friend Lynn Hattie (Halifax), your brother Forest and his wife Mary Jane (Diligent River), and Jessie Wolfe (Western Head).
Three souls were especially blessed by your presence: Your sister and my mother Ruby, with whom you are now reunited. Seeing you together was the perfect example of how to love, share, and support someone so close. I know how much this relationship meant to you when I heard you tell someone “We did everything together.” Also, your sister Margaret and dear friend Lynn. It was inspiring to see how much spending time with them meant to you.
Your devotion was a gift to the Workers’ Compensation Board, where you served without absence for 30 years, evident in your many Long Service and Attendance Awards. Your devotion to keeping our homes clean and doing whatever you could to support your family was very special to be part of.
My dear Aunt Dot: I had no idea our remaining time together in this life would be so brief. I am relying on your courage and strength to guide me through this time. Enjoy your time with Mom and the rest of our family. Until we are together again I say, thank you for everything. I love you always. Your nephew, Jeffrey.
