It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Donna Williamson - our beloved wife, mother and Nanny on November 16th at the Halifax Infirmary. She was born in Windsor, NS on July 3, 1948 to the late Wilfred and Ethel (Foley) Marnes. She worked at CIBC for 22 years before Clearwater Seafoods snagged her away for her remaining 31 years in the work force.
Donna retired in 2019 and spent her well-deserved retirement walking the malls in every corner of the province, spending time with family and going on road trips. She also loved watching her Hallmark movies and the international hit show that traces the everlasting search for Oak Island’s lost treasure.
In her earlier years, the whole family spent summers at Sherwood Forest Campground in Coldbrook, NS - going to bingo and Saturday dances, taking late-night drives to New Minas for post-dance snacks, and competing in the various field day activities.
Donna and her husband Harry were married for 53 years, with two daughters, Lori (Jason) Williamson and Leah (Tony) Jabbour and four amazing grandchildren, Sophia, Mya, Connor and Parker. Donna’s reputation for being one tough lady has been passed down through her family and will be forever carried forward.
A service will be held Friday November 22nd at 2 p.m. at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, in Halifax, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please use any donations toward a meal together with your own families or even a shopping trip in Donna’s honour.
