It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Don McNeil who slipped away from cancer on March 15th, 2022.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Rosa May McNeil and his daughter April Brooks of Victoria, B.C, his grandson James Gibson (Laura) of Salmon Arm, B.C, granddaughter Lizz Brooks of Victoria, B.C, his great granddaughter Piper Gibson of Salmon Arm, B.C, his sister Mary Elizabeth McNutt of Kentville, N.S, and his brother Peter Briar McNeil of Weymouth, N.S, in addition to many nieces and nephews, and Sister-in-Laws Sally McNeil of Kentville N.S, Lorraine McNeil of Windsor, N.S, and Lois McNeil of St. John N.B.
Don is deceased by brothers Lloyd, Charlie, Eddie and Ray and his sister Heather.
Born in Windsor Forks N.S, Don moved to Weymouth after his father's death. He served in the Canadian Armed Forces before moving to Prince George, B.C where he married and spent 30 years in the fire department, retiring in 1998 as Assistant Chief.
In 2007 Don and Rosa moved back to Weymouth, N.S, to be near his mother Mildred Esther McNeil in her later years.
After a life well lived he is with his Savior. Rest in Peace Don, Dad, and Grandpa....forever in our hearts
Funeral services to be held at Trinity Anglican Church, 321 Main Avenue, Halifax, Nova Scotia, on Saturday, April 2nd, 2022 at 1:00 pm
