It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dianne Marshall on August 19, 2022 at the Victoria General Hospital in Halifax after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Halifax on October 1, 1947. Dianne is survived by her son, Fred Stillman, and sister Jane Hirons (nee Marshall). She is also survived by 3 nieces and 2 nephews living in the US, Toronto and Halifax. She was a talented writer and historian and her passion for local history was legendary. She was the author of several books, a frequent guest on CBC radio’s Information Morning and contributed to the Sunday Herald where she entertained many with historical insights into Nova Scotia’s past. She was also passionate about politics and a great contributor of both time and energy to the Liberal Party. She worked as a civil servant for many years. Dianne was predeceased by her parents Helen (nee Gouthro) Marshall and Vernon Marshall as well as a brother (infancy) and sister Bev Miller (nee Marshall). A private interment will take place and there will be no funeral.
