David Cyril Beardsley Waterfall

Born in Belper, Derby County, England, he was the son of Cyril and Betty Waterfall.

Dave went to post-secondary school in Belper and worked as a machinist in England. In 1966, Dave immigrated to Montreal, Quebec to work at Pratt and Whitney. After 9 years living in Montreal, he moved with his family to Wellington, Nova Scotia to work at Howe Richardson. He left to pursue a career in business operating Bud’s Pub in Burnside.

Dave took great pleasure in his early years playing many sports, in particular, hockey. He was a die hard fan of the Derby Rams football club and the Montreal Canadiens. In his mid-life, he was an active golfer and member of Brightwood and Granite Springs golf clubs. He was also fond of curling at the Mayflower Club in Halifax. Dave was very handy at construction projects, big or small; he mastered many crafts such as woodworking, which flourished as a result of his creativity and wisdom.

Dave was supportive, generous, and always had time for his family and friends. He would often dedicate himself to help those he loved. He worked hard, played hard and had high expectations of those around him.

He is survived by his wife, Helen (Murphy), his daughters, Julia (Jim) of Bridgewater, NS and Alayne (Jay) of Bayside, NS; sons, Mark of Wirksworth, England and Jean (Joanne) of Nottingham, England; brother, Philip (Sue) Waterfall, Lea, England. 10 Grandchildren, Natalie, Caren, Cameron, Emily, Katelyn, Timothy, Ben, Rebecca, Olivia and Thomas. 3 Great-Grandchildren, Abagail, George and Grace.

A celebration of life will be held with his family and close friends at a later date. Donations may be made to the charity of choice in remembrance.
