We are saddened to announce Cynthia’s passing on November 29, 2023. Many throughout Nova Scotia will remember Cynthia’s poems and quick wit. She received numerous certificates of recognition and awards for presentations of her poetry.
In her own words, this is an introduction Cynthia wrote in the 80’s for a collection of her poems:
“Cynthia Chandler was born October 24, 1947. She lived in the Northend all of her life and is well liked by all who know her. Cynthia’s many interests include playing piano, writing and listening to a variety of music. Although Cynthia’s life has been fraught with difficulties, she is never discouraged, always optimistic with an abiding faith in God.“
Cynthia will be missed. She is survived by brother Richard (Jen), sisters Ruth, Heather (Peter), cousin Natalie; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by her parents Avery and Edith Chandler and sister Jean Chandler.
Many thanks go to the staff at Northwood Manor who made her last years meaningful and comfortable.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Cruikshank’s Funeral Home. Interment will take place at a later date.
