He was born on November 14th, 1932 in Amaliada Hleias, Greece to the late Konstantinos and Maria Nikolopoulos.
Chris immigrated to Canada in 1960 in pursuit of a better life and married his wife Tassia on March 4th 1962. Shortly after their wedding they moved to Montreal and spent the next ten years there before finally moving back to Halifax for good in 1972. For the next 32 years, dad and mom ran a small family business in north end Halifax before retiring in 2004.
Dad was a great supporter of St. George’s Greek Orthodox Church and an active member of the Greek Community in Halifax.
Chris was predeceased by his wife of 57 years Tassia, his father Konstantinos, his mother Maria and brother, John Nikolopoulos, sisters-in-law Georgia Tsafouros, Niki Klironomos, Hariklia Koskolou and brothers-in-law Theodoros Tsafouros, Mike Klironomos, and Trifon Pournaras. He is survived by his son Costa, his daughter Lilly (John Garyfallos) his grandson Chris Garyfallos, sisters-in-law Bessie Kanellakos (George) Eleftheria Pournaras, his loving nieces and nephews and numerous relatives in Canada, USA and Greece.

A visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax between 6-9pm on Thursday December 29th. Funeral service will be held on Friday December 30th 11:00, at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 38 Purcells Cove Road. A burial will follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Bedford Highway.
