Chris was an independent, kind and generous spirit – with a heart of gold. But as big as his heart was, it just couldn’t carry him any further on his journey. His bright smile, and witty sense of humour brought laughter to all his family and friends who cared about him so much.
Chris was born in 1963 in Halifax to his mother whom he loved and adored – Vera (McIver) Wambolt – and the late Douglas Wambolt. Growing up in Fleming Heights, and spending summers at our cottage on Caribou Island, Chris had a love for animals, a passion for sunflowers and Adele - and a sense of adventure - exploring Nova Scotia, and beyond - from Iceland to Ireland. He spent the last 24 years as a dedicated, hardworking employee at Costco – where he cherished some great friendships.
One of his biggest wishes is that we all share a kinder and more positive world.
Besides his mother, Chris is survived by his three brothers: Kevin, Stephen (Paulette) and Barry (Brenda); and his nieces and nephews he loved so much: Jenn, Craig, Matthew and Nicole. And of course his 3 kittens: Behr, Ivy and Lucy.
Visitation will be Friday April 7 from 5 – 8 pm with a celebration of Chris’s life on Saturday April 8 at 2 pm at Snow’s Funeral Home, Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Reverend Jim McCorriston officiating. Burial will take place at a later date.
Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to Canadian Mental Health Association, SPCA, and the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation.
