Cheryl was born July 10, 1961, in Halifax, to the late Bill and Carol (LaPierre) Newbury.
Cheryl was incredibly artistic and well known for her elaborate costumes, stunning decorations, in particular her Halloween decor. Cheryl got such joy out of watching the children's reaction when she transformed her home into a magical experience for them.
Cheryl enjoyed being outdoors whether it was in her gardens, walks on the beach or a Friday adventure making memories with Grammy’s little angel, Gabriella.
Cheryl was deeply devoted to her family. She was a stay at home mom and in her later years the primary caregiver for both of her parents even while she was battling an illness herself.
Cheryl will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 30 years, Pat; children, Samantha (Loren) Little, Justin, Myles (Alex), Matt (Emily) and Brittany. She will be especially missed by her granddaughter, Gabriella, who filled her heart with love, as well as her special “Boy” Jordan and her first “Grandchild” Doozer. Cheryl is also survived by her sister, Lillian Newbury.
A special thanks to Dr. Snow and her team at the QEII Cancer Care Centre. Cheryl thought of the ladies as friends not just caregivers. The family wants to say thank-you to the staff of 8.3 for your warm hearts and care that you provided to Cheryl in her final days.
In keeping with Cheryl wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Donation in Cheryl’s name can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice.
