Mom was so kind, loving and devoted to her family and friends. While we will miss her so much, we can be comforted that she will live on forever in our hearts. Mom enjoyed 81 full years of great health. Diagnosed with colon cancer three years ago, she stayed positive throughout, and was determined to regain her health. Through treatment, inner strength and strong will, she was successful right up until June of this year, when further treatment was no longer an option. She peacefully passed with loved ones by her side. Mom is a stellar example of pure heart, we’re so proud of her many accomplishments. Born in Goldenville, she was a daughter of the late Angus MacLean Cameron and Alice Sarah McGrath (Cameron). As a young girl, her family moved to Halifax, where she attended Chebucto Rd School and QEHS. She studied at Maritime Business College and made a career for herself in secretarial work. Mom worked for the Province of N.S., Zive Insurance, Simpson-Hurst Insurance and others along the way. As a young woman, she married Reg Anthony Hollett, and had 2 children, David and Alan. Later in life, mom remarried to Jim Victor Eastwood. Mom always enjoyed spending time with her mom Alice, sister Joyce, brother Rufus and many other relatives. During her senior years she enjoyed seniors discounts, shopping for deals, cardrives, tending her yard, taking care of her dog Zoey, spending time with cherished granddaughter Sara, as well as her many nieces and nephews.
She is survived by sons David Michael Hollett (Cecilia); Alan Cameron Hollett (Darlene Brine); granddaughter Sara Brine Hollett and her friend Dylan. Her brother Rufus MacLean Cameron (Jean); her sister and best friend Joyce Morris. Nephews and nieces Bruce, Scott, Dan Cameron; Greg, Kelly, Kim Morris. Grand nephews and nieces Ryan, Brianna, Jordan, Kyle, Keenan, Kaylee, Elliot, Richard, Marli, Callum, Justin. Many members of the McGrath and Cameron sides of the family, mom loved you all. Mom shared a mutual special affection with her aunt Prudy Leslie. Mom was predeceased by her parents, sister Janet McGrath; husband Jim Eastwood, Reg Hollett. Many thanks to all the professionals who helped mom along the way. Most of all, special thanks to Joyce's family for their never ending concern for mom's well being, thank you all.
