Carol was born in Alberton Prince Edward Island on May 29, 1950. Carol was always a very conscious steward and advocate for mother earth and all matters related to the environment that we all live in. This passion led Carol to connect with the Ecology Centre as one of her priority charities. Her passion is also reflected in her wishes for a Green Burial.
Carol was passionate about finding ways to support her childhood church, St Peter’s Anglican Church, in Alberton PEI. Carol initiated a project, with her siblings, in 2015 to supply and install new gates for the St Peters cemetery, in memory of their Mother Lottie Millett and grandmother Mary Smith. Carol also spent many hours researching her family tree and joyfully sharing that information with siblings and extended family. Carol also joyfully supported and participated in the life and work of her husband’s church family, the former congregation of St John’s United Church in Beaver Bank.
For many years Carol volunteered at the Skyline workshop for special needs clients of the Scotia Nursing Home in north Beaver Bank. This activity gave Carol special joy and provided an open door for this community to participate in the worship and work of the congregation of St John’s United.
Carol was employed in several industry sectors (Banking, Retail and Small Business) on a full time basis before motherhood and part time basis after becoming a mother. Her most rewarding career came from being a loving and nurturing wife to Ron and loving and nurturing mother to their children.
Carol enjoyed spending time with Ron and children at their summer home in a PEI, attending car races throughout Canada & the USA with husband Ron, travel trailer camping adventures with husband Ron and celebrating many special events with her siblings and families.
Carol’s spirit of humour, care, compassion and love was shared with and touched by the spirit of many wonderful friends. Carol’s gentle and joyful mannerisms facilitated and sustained these many friendships.
While our hearts are broken, we know she is in the joyful and loving care of our Lord and saviour.
