HOLT, Carl Francis – 71, of White’s Lake, Prospect passed away peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2011 at the QEII Victoria General Hospital with his daughter Tammie by his side.Born in Bathurst, N.B., he was the son of Delores and the late Clarence “Jack” Holt. Carl retired from the City of Halifax a number of years ago. During his life, he has always had a passion for music and stage performances. He was a drummer and singer throughout his life and loved to command the stage during karaoke for his best known song “All of Me”. Carl was also known for his interest in history, antiques, and hidden treasures. He loved his “Hole in the wall” antique shop as well as trolling the gift shops and junk yards all over the province. Carl enjoyed fishing, gardening and exploring. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and most deeply by his daughter who had the honor of getting to know her father all over again. Carl is survived by his life companion, Patricia Holt; daughter Tammie Holt (Blair King) of Halifax; sisters Joan (Andy) Joyce, and Linda (Danny) Pard; brothers: Bill (Winnie), Jack (Bridie), Eddie, Wayne (Sheila), Cecil (Susan), all of Halifax; grandchildren: Nicole Nelson, David Biddle and Jordan Biddle; and a special family friend of Carl’s, Tanya and Nacho Chavarria and their three children. Visitation will be held at J.A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax N.S. (902) 455-0531 on Thursday, August 11th from 6-8 pm. Memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, August 12th at 1:00 pm, Chaplin Jim Norton officiating.
