It is with heartbreaking sadness that we share the unexpected loss of Brian Anthony Tomie, age 63, on Friday May 20. Born in Sydney on April 23, 1959 to George and Naphie (nee Abbass), Brian was the middle child who lived life to its fullest and through a will to make the most of every moment. Every opportunity was an adventure to take advantage of or to meet new people. Brian loved life; to laugh and to socialize. He was outgoing, spontaneous and loved nothing more than visiting with friends and family, especially at the cottage. Brian spent as much time as he could on the Gulf Shore, it was his haven and his passion. He left us doing something he would have loved; riding his bike on a sunny Friday evening of the first long weekend of the season along the Gulf Shore Road, nothing could have made him happier. Brian was a passionate athlete, a fierce competitor and an avid fisher. He was a talented healer of others’ pain and injuries, working in Bedford for some 36 years as a successful physiotherapist.
Brian leaves behind his wife of 35 years Susan (nee Wrathall) and his three beloved children, Ellen, Brynn and Bruce, brother George (Debbie), sister Donna, mother-in-law Bette and a large extended family and countless friends whose relationships he treasured. Brian loved his own children fiercely and was forever proud of the adults they have become. He fathered, coached, and mentored each with commitment and unwavering love. They brought much joy to his life. Brian, always a child at heart, made sure his children knew the importance of silliness in life. We will hold fond memories of Brian close to our heart.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday May 27, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. The family will greet close friends and family starting at 2:00pm followed by a service at 3:00pm.

In our hearts he will always live long and prosper.
