Died November 19, 2013, age 89 years, on the same date as her mother Rose Conrad died. Beloved wife of Walter for 64 yrs. Loving mother of Thomas (Cheryl), Janet McGrorty, Ruth Kowalski, Marcella Gagnon, Frank, Mary (Tony) Humphrey, Sun Prarie,WI, Robert (Jackie) of Edinburgh, Scotland; Much loved grandmother of, Elise (Scott) Babcock, Kristin (David Balcerowski) Kowalski, Mark (Tara) Kowalski, Michelle McGrorty, Megan (Jon) McGrorty Puthoff, Cory Gagnon, Monica (Ken) Gagnon, Elizabeth and Tynan Humphrey, Christopher, Daniel and Rachel Kowalski; Great-Grandmother of Dylan and Owen Babcock, Morgan Balcerowski, Miranda and Caroline Kowalski and Zander Gagnon; Beloved sister of Charles Marvin (Marilyn) Conrad; sister-in-law to Norlaine Conrad, Terese Bober, Anthony Kowalski, Victor Kowalski; aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. When Walter suffered a devastating stroke at the age of 51 yrs, Mom, with two young children still at home, continued to care for him at home until her final day. Charlotte loved canasta, a good game of sheephead or cribbage, enjoyed friendships with the other wives of the engineers at McGraw-Edison Company in South Milwaukee, WI, she active in her church at St. Matthews, Oak Creek, WI, and a member of St. Martin de Tours, Franklin, WI. Mom also found time to volunteer at Trinity Memorial Hospital. Mom and Dad were able to take vacations with friends and neighbors and enjoyed these trips so much. Mom loved family gatherings and enjoyed seeing the happiness of her loved ones. Mom, thanks for all that you taught us, especially passing down all your recipes, especially the lemon meringue pie! Memorial Gathering will be held on Saturday November 23, 2013 from 10:00 am – Noon, followed by a Memorial Service at Noon both at the funeral home. Private family interment will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Schramka – Borgwardt Funeral and Cremation Services of Hales Corners is honored to be serving the family.
