Richard Hornstein, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, esteemed brother, and uncle, peacefully passed away at his home on Friday with his family by his side. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Richard was born on September 12, 1943, and throughout his remarkable life, touched the hearts of many. His unwavering love and dedication to his family were evident in his 56-year marriage to his beloved wife, Marie.
Richard was a proud and loving father to his daughters Deborah and Emily, and his son Joseph. He was a pillar of strength and support for his children and his 8 grandchildren. He was a supportive brother to his sister Barbara Kass.
He served on the Board of Education, coached numerous youth sports teams, and supported many charities.
Professionally, Richard was a successful business owner of Norel Paper, where he began as a salesman after serving in the United States Army. He attended New York University.
Beyond his professional and community achievements, Richard will be remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, and incredible generosity.
Richard Hornstein's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Tuesday September 5th at Guttermans 420 Park Street in Hackensack. The family will be accepting visitors at 10:30. The service will be at 11:30 followed by a burial at George Washington cemetery 234 Paramus Road in Paramus.
The family will be receiving friends and family at their house at 35 Orchard Drive in Upper Saddle River from 2 to 7 on Tuesday September 5th.
