BERGMAN, CAROLE JANE (nee KORN) Born August 24, 1927 in Manhattan, one of 3 daughters of Benjamin and Ruth Korn, died peacefully on April 6, 2021. A passionate artist and poet, Carole wrote over a thousand poems, and published two collections - “Heartbeat” and “Echoes of the Heart”. Carole was also an artist, creating pastels, sculpture, and most prolifically, her own style of Japanese brush painting. A featured artist in many Long Island Art Shows and events, she was recognized for the delicate and unusually colorful style she created. Carole taught her unique style of Japanese Brush painting, and gave many workshops and group classes across Long Island. She frequently performed poetry readings across the Island. Her engaging, charismatic personality, and compassionate nature were beloved by all who met her. A lover of the arts, she supported and encouraged the musical abilities of her surviving children, Roxanne, Glenda (Lubin), Helene, Jason, and Bethany. Her passion for literature, theatre, art, music, and family was shared with all who came in contact with her, as well as a gift for spreading and sharing love. Her indomitable spirit and genuine and heartfelt way of communicating benefited all who knew her. An unforgettable presence, Carole will be dearly missed by her children, her grandchildren Arielle and Gregory Lubin, Elizabeth, Jonathan, Kathryn, Alexina and Ruby. She and her husband Ray shared an incredible devoted love, and she left a legacy of many poems written to celebrate and express that love. Carole is predeceased by son Brian Adam, 1969 -1973, and husband Raymond Abraham Bergman, 1923 - 1993. Donations in her memory can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and Lions Eye Bank for Long Island.
