Mavis M. Landsverk, 82, (nee Johnson) passed away peacefully Tuesday March 28, 2017 at her home in Wadsworth, IL. Mavis was born on April 16, 1934 in Waukegan, IL. Mavis grew up in North Chicago and graduated from Waukegan High School 1952. She met and married her husband, Donald Landsverk in 1960 and lived for many years in North Chicago. Mavis was a full time homemaker but in her earlier years she worked for Johnson Motors-Waukegan and Neal Junior High School-North Chicago. She volunteered for over a decade at St. Therese Hospital Hospice Care Program, and assisted with a Women's Shelter in Gurnee. She loved gardening, going to concerts, craft fairs and most of all spending time with family especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.. She is survived by her sons, Scott (Renee), Brian (Lori), Stuart (Julie); daughter-in-law, Suzanne (Steven); step-daughter, Connie (Bob) Besanson); the grandchildren and great grandchildren she loved with all her heart, Andrew, Eric, Jack, Nathan Clark, Brett Clark, Addison Clark, Lisa Besanson and Robert Besanson; Zach, Sarah and Lilly Landsverk, sister-in-law Barbara Uttormark, brothers and sisters, cousins, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald and son Steven. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Valerie Lerm and father, George Johnson. Visitation at the church will be held from 10am-11am and the Funeral Mass will begin at 11a.m. Saturday, April 1st, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 15000 Wadsworth Road, Wadsworth. Burial will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Comprehensive Transplant Center", Northwestern Medicine, Arkes Pavilion, 676 North St. Clair St., Suite 1900, Chicago, IL 60611, Attn: Dr. Michael Abecassis.
