Shoni will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity. Together with her husband of 60 years Ruben who was the love of her life, they enjoyed simple pleasures and lived a contented life. As a health care professional, she brought comfort to many over her 33 years of nursing which started in Canada for 17 years and continued in California until she retired at age 62 and moved to South Carolina.
She enjoyed cooking, eating good food, watching movies, gardening, reading, and spending time with her beloved pets and family.
Above all else, Shoni was a loving and protective mother who would sacrifice everything and anything for her children. She was especially proud of her four grandchildren.
After 39 years residing in the United States, she and her husband decided it was time to move back to Canada in 2022 to be closer to their family. This was a happy moment and we gladly welcomed back Lola’s Filipino home cooking which was simply the best.
Shoni was always grateful for all the special moments in her life with all her family and friends- may they be big or small.
Family, extended family and friends both near and far will truly miss her warm comforting radiance and smile.
We express gratitude to the dedicated Team of Doctors and Nurses in the Cardio and Cardio Vascular ICU who cared and supported her in her journey home to God.
