Olga Bojeczko, a cherished resident of Guelph for many years, peacefully departed on December 19, 2023. Born on May 6, 1934, in Guelph to Andrew and Tekla Jackiw, Olga was the beloved wife of William Bojeczko for an inspiring 49 years. She is survived by her sons Dan (Tracy) and Tim (Janine) and remembered in memory by her late son Bill (Cathy). Olga's legacy extends to her role as a caring grandmother to Chris (Michelle), Vicki (Adam), Michael, Tim, and Tatiana, as well as her great-grandchildren Dara, Mason, and Beatrice. She also held a special place in the hearts of Julieanna and cousin Paul Chymiy in Florida.
A graduate of the Loretto Academy, Olga maintained lifelong friendships with a “gang of six” fellow graduates: Coleen, Diane, Eileen, Judy, and Olivia. She actively contributed to St. Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Church throughout her life, pivotally constructing the parish in the 1950s and managing bingo fundraisers. Olga's commitment to her community extended to her years as a devoted homemaker and her tenure at Foodland on Eramosa Rd. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and treasure hunting at rummage sales. Olga's adventurous spirit led her to cherish experiences, including visits to World Expos in Montreal and Vancouver, cruises, and winters spent with friends in sunny Florida. In her later years, she discovered a newfound talent as an accomplished painter of landscapes.
Olga's passing leaves the void with memories of her infectious laughter, kindness, generosity, and compassion. We hold onto the love and miss her dearly as we bid farewell, knowing that we will be reunited again. A private burial took place at Marymount Cemetery, marking the peaceful conclusion to Olga's earthly journey.
