Passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving family on June 1, 2024, in Guelph, Ontario. Moses was the devoted husband and best friend for nearly 42 years to Dawn DiCicco (nee Cushing), who were happily married on July 10th, 1982. Left to mourn our loving, funny, and sharp-witted Papà are Christopher (Stephanie), Daniel (Efthymia), Matthew (Jenn), and Adriana. He was the fun loving Nonno to Christopher’s sons, Brody and Karter.
Born in Guelph, in 1952, Moses was the first born and devoted son of Salvatore and Vincenza DiCicco (nee Rotolo); born in Villa Santa Maria, Abruzzo, and Palermo, Sicily, Italy, respectively. He was the caring, guiding, and eldest brother to his loving siblings, Lillian, Joanne, Angelo, Gerry, Diane, and their families, who will miss him dearly.
Moses was a beacon of positivity, happiness, strength, and compassion, with many in our community having shared the immense blessing of his love, musical prowess, humour, and friendship.
A very special thank you for the kindness, compassion, and dedication of the Nurses, PSWs, staff, and volunteers at Hospice Wellington, who cared for our Husband, Dad, Nonno, and Brother, allowing him to live with peace, dignity, honour, happiness, and respect in his final moments. We would also like to thank Dr. Robinson, and Dr. Bell for their ongoing care during his journey.
Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph (519-821-5077) where the family invites relatives and friends to join for a Visitation on Saturday, June 15, 2024 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm. A Celebration of Life will follow in the Hart Chapel at 2:00pm.
The family would be forever grateful for acts of kindness, the spreading of happiness, and uplifting positivity to one another in the community, as a testament to how Moses lived his life, even in his final moments. Donations in Moses’ honour to Hospice Wellington, where he spent his final months in the warm and tender care of many, and Royal City Mission, an organization that mirrors the compassion and values Moses lived by, and where he enjoyed many live concerts, would also be appreciated. Donations can be made in person at the funeral home (cash and cheques accepted) or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com.
Ti amo per sempre, Papà. Save a seat, a plate, and a drink for us all at the table. See ya, love ya, bye.
