KURTZ, Mildred Mary Grace "Milly, Honey" (nee Walker) April 24, 1940 - March 27, 2013 Milly passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Hospital in Hamilton, ON with her family at her side, after a lengthy illness. Milly was predeceased by her parents James Walker (1945) and Eleanor Walker McCool (1989). Beloved wife of Allen Kurtz and loving mother to Larry (Norma), Wayne and Julie (Ronnie). Proud Grandma to Nicholas, Amelia, Faith, Johanna, Indiana and Jackson. Proud Great-Grandma to Fynn and Harper. Milly was born in Long Branch, Ontario to the late James and Eleanor Walker. She was one of eleven children. The family moved to Port Credit, ON where she lived until she was wed. Married July 30, 1960, Milly and Allen enjoyed 52 years of married life together. They resided in Brampton, ON where all 3 of their children were born. They later moved to Acton and then Rockwood, ON. Milly was a long time member of the Salvation Army Citadel in Brampton, ON and had many friends and family who attended with her. Loved by the many who knew her, Milly had a great sense of humour, acceptance of all people and a very resilient spirit. In spite of her many illnesses and setbacks, Milly managed to bring much joy to the lives of those around her. Predeceased by her sister Alice Louise and brothers Peter and Richard. Survived by brothers and sisters; A. James, Mary, Dorothea, Alex (Marg), Edna, Kathleen, Gabrielle and sisters-in-law Tina and Mary Ann. Friends were received at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Rockwood Chapel. A Funeral Service was held at the Salvation Army Citadel, Brampton on Monday, April 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Spring interment will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Grand River Hospital (Kitchener) Renal Program or St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation – Hamilton would be appreciated by the family.
