Matthew Fairfull

Monday October 21st 2024 in his 66th year.

He left behind the love of his life Wanita Smith. Beloved Son of Frances Fairfull and James Fairfull (decd 2001). Brother of David Fairfull (Ada), Peter Fairfull (Kim), Mark Fairfull and Cathy Cole (Patrick) Brother in law to Gloria Greig (Stew) Yvonne Bush and Teresa McFarland (Ron). Uncle to Karen Mitchell (Mark), Lyn Buck (Scott), John Fairfull, Kate Drohan (Mike), Kevin Fairfull and Finnian Cole. Great Uncle to Elijah, Ben, Aaron, Daniel, Jethro, Phil and Sam Buck. Hayden and Lauryn Drohan. Godfather to Theresa Hirshman. Matt will be missed by numerous cousins, friends and neighbours.

It is hard to think of Matt without smiling- Absolutely one of a kind. Generous, kind, full of laughter. Never without a camera in his pocket. He had such a great sense of curiosity always reading a book or magazine to further his understandings. Matt was known for enjoying a friendly chat over a can of beer and always quick to lend a helping hand. He travelled extensively seeing 38 countries always looking for an adventure with a twist. A retired tool and die maker he was quite precise which showed in his daily living.

Jokingly referred to as “part crow” he couldn't pass by a dumpster without looking in to see what shiny treasure might be found. He had a love for all things motorcycles and was a long time member of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group. He was an avid collector of books, coins, stamps, beer caps, model planes, Hard Rock cafe pins from his travels, all quaint things and definitely motorcycles. As a staunch environmentalist he wouldn't pass by an empty can - “10cents don't you know” His motto in life was always “FUN IS FREE”

A celebration of Matt's life will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church 409 Paisley Rd. Guelph. November 2nd, 2024. Visitation 10:00am. Funeral Mass 11:00am. Eulogy and luncheon to immediately follow in the church hall.

Cremation has taken place and a private family committal service will be held at a later date.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Guelph Food Bank, Guelph General Hospital ICU or charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
