June Margaret Stanley Gotch

It is with great sadness that we announce that June Margaret Gotch (Stanley) passed away in her 90th year at Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital in Oakville Ontario, on July 13, 2021. Beloved wife of Cecil “Pat” Gotch (deceased) for over 50 years, June was born in England on April 12, 1931 to Tom and Lily Stanley. She was one of twelve children.

Growing up in England, June lived through WWII. She married Pat in 1952 and they soon emigrated to Canada. They settled in the Montreal area where June found a job at the Royal Bank of Canada head office. She worked there for many decades until her retirement.

June enjoyed shopping, especially for clothing. She was always very fashionable. She and Pat were also avid bowlers, enjoying lane, carpet, and lawn bowling.

June and her sister, Evelyn, travelled the globe for many years. Included in their visits were Egypt (a cruise down the Nile), and Thailand. Also,many visits to Las Vegas.

June is survived by her daughter, Sharon Porter and her grand-children, Ashley and Ryan Darch. She will be missed by all, including her sisters, Evelyn Sheldon and Maureen Hill, and their children, Tina and Brent Sheldon and Sean and Neil Hill, and grand-children, Carson and Braedon MacCormac, and Nevi Sheldon.

A private service has been held by the family.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made the Canadian Cancer Society.
