Much loved by his wife Inez and his children Sandra (Rob) and Stephen. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will continue to inspire his grandchildren Drake, Bryce, Bronwyn, Jennifer and great granddaughter Brynleigh. George will be missed by his sister Shirley and brother Robert. George was predeceased by first wife Barbara (1994) and sister Eileen (1974).
An accountant by trade George obtained his RIA, CGA and CA degrees. He was the plant controller for Oregon Tool (Blount Canada) in Guelph from November 27 1967 to June 15 2001.
His love of gardening, playing slow pitch and curling, cheering on Toronto sports teams and keeping his car in immaculate condition never waned. Card game of choice was cribbage and good luck in trying to defeat him.
George was both a member and elder at Westminster St. Paul’s Presbyterian church for many years. During his retirement years volunteer work at the Guelph general hospital brought George great pleasure.
The family will be gathering this week for a celebration of George’s life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society or the charity of your choice.
