Bob was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, whose warmth and generosity touched everyone around him.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Jean Butler; his son, Neil Butler (Tanyon); and his beloved grandchildren, Brandle Bennett (Scott), Addison Colombo (Josh), and Ryleigh Butler (Jesse VanParys). He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters, Mary Young (Phillip), Lynn O'Hara, and Wendy Truman. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Molly Butler, as well as his brothers Ralph, John, and Tony.
An avid golf enthusiast, Bob was a proud member of the Springfield Golf and Country Club for over 20 years. His passion for the game was matched only by his love for gardening, which he practiced with dedication at his picturesque property in Mini Lakes. Bob found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was enjoying a cold craft beer on the back deck, savoring a good cigar, or tending to the fish in the river of Mini Lakes. Surprisingly, he was also a fan of Black Sabbath, and his eclectic tastes were a testament to his vibrant spirit.
Bob cherished the time spent with his family, especially teaching his grandkids the joys of golf. His love for soccer was unwavering, and he was a proud supporter of Aston Villa—"Up the Villa!" His legacy of kindness, laughter, and love will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held on September 19th from 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Springfield Golf and Country Club - Tamarack Room, located at 2054 Gordon Street, Guelph, Ontario, N1L 1G6.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Mary’s General Hospital (Kitchener) - Cardiac Centre Fund. Contributions can be made online at www.supportstmarys.ca.
Bob's presence will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
