February 28, 1951-July 27, 2019
Alison Stewart passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Sara (Richard), and her grandchildren Brayden and Kristianne. Also missed by extended family, her numerous friends and clients. Ever the control freak, Alison set up her own departure date but only after she ensured that her Celebration of Life party was a go.
Alison lived in Brampton for over two decades, working as a Marriage and Family Therapist. She had profound gratitude for all her clients and viewed them as her teachers. In return, she taught them Earth school rules such as-the rescuer always becomes the victim, what you fear you draw near and last but not least, the universe is your mirror-so stop making faces.
Her hobbies included art (drawing and admiring), reading, and walking her beloved dogs every morning in the Heartlake Conservation area.
Every summer she would spend the last week of August on the Moon River in Bala where she would canoe, spend time with friends, swim to the rock and reminisce about her past summers spent there. This was one of her happiest places to be on this planet.
Alison had a wild sense of humour and inquiring mind. Some of her departing questions included- Is there a sock fairy? If a turtle doesn't have a shell, is it naked or homeless? She hoped to have answers when she crossed over.
Please come and celebrate her life and laugh with her once more on Sunday September 15, at the Brampton Golf Club, 7700 Kennedy Rd, Brampton, between 2-5pm. All who knew her are welcome-family, friends, clients and colleagues. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada. Donation cards are available at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home (519-821-5077), or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com.
