George was born October 21, 1926 in Rockport, Texas.
He was a resident of Port Arthur for 70 years. He graduated from Lamar in 1949 and went to work at Gulf Oil in the electrical department and retired as a supervisor after 37 years of service. George was also a member of the Swinging Squares. He retired from the Army Corps of Engineers as Lieutenant Colonel.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Booker Tuttle of Port Arthur; daughter, Eudora Marie Britian and husband Charles of Nederland; two sons, George Burton Tuttle, Sr. and wife Ginger of Groves, and Paul Tuttle and wife Nelda of Livingston; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 7, 2014 at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Reverend J. C. Coon officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
