Melissa "Missy" Schmitzer

Melissa “Missy” Schmitzer, age 56, passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She is preceded in death by her parents, Milburn and Sylvia (Lee) Roberts, her first husband, Warren J. Schmidt, grandson, Levi Tysinger, sister, Carol Roberts, brothers, Skip Roberts, Chuck Roberts. She is survived by her adoring husband, Joe Schmitzer, her four legged companions, Rusty, Monster, Yogi, Spartan, Bailey, Dorothy, daughter, Amber (Aaron) Tysinger, son, Warren J. Schmidt Jr., grandchild, Lennox Tysinger, sister, Jane Lambert, brother, Charlie Roberts, and special nephew, Ben (Cassandra) Roberts and a host of other nieces, nephews and friends. Missy graduated from Devry with a Bachelor’s Degree with a perfect 4.0 grade point average, something she was very proud of. She went on to work for DSW for 18 years as a Software Manager. Missy may have only been 4 feet 11 inches tall, but she was larger than life and had a heart bigger than the ocean. She was a very humble and kind person. Missy liked to ride her Harley and have the wind blow through her hair. She may not have ridden lately, but it was still a part of her no matter how long it had been since she rode last. She also enjoyed working on her house with Joe and in her flower garden, she also just enjoyed being at home with Joe. A visitation time will be held on Monday, July 10, 2023 from 11-12 pm and a funeral service will follow at 12 pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY 4242 Hoover Rd (Hoover Rd at Kingston Ave.). Interment will be at Concord Cemetery.
