Mary Patricia Rice

Mary Patricia Rice, age 87, of Grove City, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024. Born on November 26, 1936, to the late Wayne Jackson and Nell Statler, she was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Mary was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert L. Rice.

She is survived by her beloved children: Robyn (Jeff) Moore, Scott (Kelly) Rice, and Thomas (Vivian) Rice; grandchildren: Ryan Moore, Andrea Moore, Thomas (Caroline) Rice, Marc (Caitlin) Rice, Matt (Ashley) Rice, Cody Rice, and Luke (Victoria) Rice; great-grandchildren: Emily Rice, Thomas Rice, Brody Moore, Logan Rice, Violet Rice, Gabby Rice, Lily Rice, Zoey Rice, Juliet Rice, and Evelyn Rice; sisters: Barbara Statler and Diane Biando; brother: Doug Jackson; as well as her dear friend, Debbie Craft.

Mary was known for her loving and caring nature, which touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a lifelong passion for playing cards, a pastime she enjoyed with her children as they grew up and continued with a her wonderful group of friends. Her warmth, sense of humor, and generous spirit made her a treasured companion to all.

A woman of great compassion, Mary was always driven to help others. She dedicated her time to crocheting blankets for the Touching Little Lives Foundation, sharing her talents and spreading love to those in need. She was especially proud to pass on her crocheting skills to her granddaughter, ensuring that her legacy of kindness and creativity would continue for generations. She was also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mary’s charitable nature extended beyond her crafting. She was an avid supporter of fundraisers and always eager to give back whenever possible. Her generous heart and willingness to help others made her an extraordinary and beloved figure in her community.

Mary will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, generosity, and zest for life will live on in the memories of her loved ones. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 14th, at 10:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at Schoedinger Norris Grove City location, located at 4242 Hoover Rd, Grove City, OH, 43123.
