Mary Jane Hartman, 79, of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 09th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Huddy, Kentucky, to the late Essie and Leonard May. A graduate of Central High School in Columbus, Ohio (1963), Mary Jane went on to serve the state of Ohio with dedication until her retirement.
Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Essie and Leonard May; her sisters, Eleanor Greear and Juanita (Don) Rosinski; and her brother, William May.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Teresa Flemings; sons, David (Amy) Hartman and Bryan (Amy) Hartman; grandchildren, Brittany (Laura) Rigg, Megan (Marcus) Stalter, Kyle (Caroline) Hartman, Collin Hartman, and Caitlin Hartman; and three great-grandchildren, Madison, Jozef, and Jade. She is also survived by her lifelong friend, Ann Richards, who was by her side through many of life’s challenges and triumphs.
Mary Jane was a cherished member of the Hilliard Church of Christ, where she attended services regularly, and was known for her kindness, generosity, and unwavering faith. She is a breast cancer survivor. Above all, Mary Jane’s family was her greatest joy, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, warmth, and a deep sense of family connection. Mary Jane’s kindness, grace, and love will be missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 4pm to 6pm at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd, Grove City, Oh, 43123. A memorial service will follow to celebrate her life and faith at 6pm – 7pm.
