James G. “Jim” Ebert, age 88, of Grove City, passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023. He was born January 14, 1935 in Columbus, Oh to the late Walter and Mildred (Byers) Ebert. He went to Grove City High School and retired from Anderson Concrete. He played music for George Jones and Tammy Wynette. He played with Tammy Wynette for 8 ½ years. He started the Nashville Country Band that played all over Ohio and elsewhere for over 30 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Faye Henry, Dorothy Ebert, Martha Jane Ebert, brothers, Walter Ebert Jr., Stanley Ebert, and Raymond Ebert. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sandra Marlene Ebert, daughters, Brenda (Larry) Carr, Cindy Mantle, sons, James R. Ebert, Thimothy (Amy) Ebert, step sons, Michael Martin, Dennis (Heather) Martin, grandchildren, Joshua Ebert, Jeremy Ebert, Little Jimmy Ebert, Zachary Carr, T.J. Ebert, Gage Martin, Max Martin, Samantha Stage, Jessicay Mantle, Ashley Calvert, Melanie Barder, Chrystal Ebert, 14 great grandchildren, 7 nieces and nephews. A visitation time will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 1-3 pm at SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY 4242 Hoover Rd where a funeral service will be held at 3 pm with Mark Dettmer, Celebrant. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Grove City Cemetery.
