Charles William “Charlie” Baxter, 87, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 16, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 31, 1934 in Columbus, OH to the late Albert and Harriette (O’Brien) Baxter. Charlie was a 1952 Graduate of Grove City H.S., and worked for Standard Oil for 20+ years. He started his own business, Baxter Remodeling, and later retired from Lenkei Custom Kitchens as a cabinet designer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Tim Baxter, daughter, Annette (Baxter) Robison, great granddaughter, Avery Nagel and brother, David Baxter.
Charlie is survived by loving wife of 69 years, Juanita “Jeanie” Baxter; son, Robert (Debra) Baxter, granddaughter, Christina (Logan) Nagel, great grandson, Simon Nagel, daughter-in-law Terri, special caregiver Ruth Scheid, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Charlie was a member of The Columbus Model Railroad Club for 53 years, and ran trains every Tuesday night with his son, Bob, friends, Mike Dulin, Jeff Iles and many others. He was an Oldsmobile enthusiast and enjoyed restoring and showing many antique cars throughout the years.
Visitation will be 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Schoedinger Grove City, 4242 Hoover Rd., (HOOVER RD AT KINGSTON AVE). Funeral Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Interment Sunset Cemetery.
