Virginia Lombardi was born in Detroit in 1926, the daughter of Henry and Viola Bagnasco. She married Louis Lombardi and together they raised three sons and enjoyed over 62 years of happiness until Louis death in 2014. Virginia was a very talented seamstress and knitter. She knitted intricate sweaters for her grandsons, friends and family. She also knitted countless afghan blankets for friends and family. Virginia enjoyed playing Pinochle and was part of a large circle of longtime girlfriends, known as The Pinochle Club. After she and Louis retired they often treated the entire family to Sunday dinners at destination restaurants. Virginia M. Lombardi passed away peacefully July 6, 2018 at the age of 92. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis L. Lombardi, the loving mother of Tom, Ken (Sue) and Jim (Lori). Cherished grandmother of Thomas and Matthew. Virginia will lie in state on Monday July 9, 2018 from 11:00 am until time of Mass 12 noon at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, 21620 Greater Mack, St. Clair Shores. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or St. Joan of Arc School.
