Robin Christopher Wright was born on November 12th 1950 in Detroit, MI. He graduated from Grosse Pointe High School in 1969. He attended Wayne County Community College. He was an accomplished musician and played string bass, guitar, and piano. He wrote his own music and was a member of a number of bands, as well as a solo artist. He was a child actor who played Winthrop in the Music Man at the Ford Rotunda Theater. Robin suffered from schizophrenia for much of his life, but was able to work in the maintenance department at the Grosse Pointe Neighborhood Club for 25 years. Robin never gave up on his love for music and playing the guitar. He was a frequent site in Grosse Pointe riding his bike as his main mode of transportation. In 2021 a car hit him on his bike, and alas his bike riding days were over.
In recent years, he resided at the American House in Roseville. Robin would play his guitar and sing for the residents.
Robin is survived by his sister Wendy; brother-in-law “Brad”; brother Randy; nieces Jennifer Bradley Robinson and Emily Bradley; great-niece Samara; and great-nephew Kiran. Robin passed away on November 20th, eight days after his 74th birthday. He will be missed by family and friends.
A visitation for Robin will be held Monday, November 25, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at A. H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236.
An instate will occur Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 10:00 AM until his funeral service 10:30 am at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 375 Lothrop Road, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236.
