Renata Simone, 90, of Grosse Pointe Woods, MI, passed away on February, 17, 2024. Renata was born in Molina, Italy on August 3, 1933. One of five children, she married Roberto in 1958 and came with him to America. Renata and Roberto were married for 32 years and had 3 children. Renata was preceded in death by Roberto.
Beloved Mother of Roberta (Danny) and her family Lia (Noah) Ellingboe and Alex Popovic; Douglas; Marc (Christine) and his family Bobby, Brandon and Noah Simone. Dear daughter of the late Francesco and Utilia Bernardini. Survived by sister Wanda, many nieces, nephews and sister-in-law Mariella Simone. Much loved nonna, aunt, sister and friend.
Renata (known as Nonna to many), embraced a life of faith. She enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world with her friends and family and enjoyed many unique experiences. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, knitting and cooking. She was always happy to teach and guide others. Cooking for and taking care of her family brought her happiness. Her 5 grandchildren were the joys of her life and she did her best to nurture them
Our Nonna cared deeply for the people around her. She was kind and passionate. She made an impact on many lives. She will be forever missed.
