Randolph Marshall Smith, Sr., affectionately known as "Randy" by his family and close friends, was born on November 23, 1959, in Wilmington, Delaware, to the late Charles & Clementine Smith. He was from a large family, his siblings Judith (Judy) Smith, Julius (Lamont) Smith, Kathleen Nelson, Freddie Mae Williams, and Clemetine (Tiny) Dix preceded him in death.
Randy accepted Christ at an early age. In his youth, he moved with his family to Detroit, Michigan, where he attended Detroit Public Schools. After completing his schooling, he enlisted in the United States Navy. While in the Navy he worked with Aviation Ordinance and obtained the rank of Chief Petty Officer and oversaw a crew of sailors that loaded munitions on to aircraft on the ship. He was very proud of his military career and to serve our country; a career that allowed him to see the world.
Randy gained his wings on November 2, 2024. He is deeply loved and will be immensely missed by his family, relatives, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him. He was always ready to help and support others without hesitation, leaving a legacy of kindness that will be remembered by all who knew him.
