Nancy was surrounded by love and listening to her daughter Nicole read her Psalm 103 as she passed away at home. Nicole and her wife Kristin, and their friends Amy and Allison were all with her.
Nancy lived life to the fullest and loved with all she had. If you knew Nancy, you knew what love was. No matter what stage of life you met her in, you have many fun and meaningful memories. She grew up in Detroit and lived through many trying times (read her book, “Come Get These Memories of the Sixties†for the details of the 60’s). She always persevered and was a very strong, independent woman.
Her most proud accomplishment in life was her daughter Nicole – who she could and would brag about for hours if given the opportunity. The most important thing Nancy passed along to Nicole was her faith. Nancy loved teaching Sunday School and confirmation classes and going on youth group events as a chaperone.
Nancy was predeceased by her parents Ella Pode and David McGregor and brothers Andrew, Mark and David McGregor. She is survived by her daughter Nicole McCarthy and wife Kristin, Sister Alice McGregor, Step Son Aaron (Lisa) McCarthy, Nieces & Nephews Merri McGregor (Dan), Lindsey (Scott) Hinz, and many, many, many, loving friends and family members who meant the world to her.
