Maureen Perry passed away after a lengthy illness on November 30, 2022 at the age of 62. She was born in Long Beach, California on January 19, 1960; daughter of Dr. Alan and Patricia Hendra. Maureen attended Grosse Pointe North High School. She married Charles Perry on September 1st 1977 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Harper Woods.
Maureen was the epitome of the word survivor. She courageously fought and cheated death at least five times. Her strong will was evident as she never complained about what she was enduring physically. She was outgoing and kind hearted. She was a member of the Kitty Haven Cat Rescue, in which she fostered kittens and cats until they found their forever homes. She continued being active with St Peter Church and school as a crossing guard and hall monitor. She will be remembered for her kind heart and infectious laugh. He biggest love in life was her family.
Maureen was predeceased by her parents. She leaves behind her loving husband Charlie. She adored her son Brian (Erica). She will be missed by her siblings Kevin (Janai) Hendra, Jacqueline D. Hendra, Darin E. Hendra, and Chris W. (Pam) Hendra; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 pm until 7:00 pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave., at Vernier Rd., Grosse Pointe Woods. Her funeral will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 am.
