Mary Margaret O'Keefe

Mary Margaret (McGuire) O’Keefe, 93, passed away in her home in St. Clair Shores on May 16, 2024. She will be missed by her seven loving children Kurt, Eric (Leslie Graves), Mark (Joy), Karl (Carolyn), Kathleen McClanaghan (Tom), Paul (Linda) and Eileen Ross (Ken). Mary was devoted to her 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Mary grew up in Windsor, Ontario where she graduated from Assumption High School. She began dating her late husband Donald shortly after enrolling at University of Detroit. They were married in 1951 and raised their children in Grosse Pointe Park.

Mary will be remembered as someone who cared deeply about others. She nurtured relationships with family, friends and neighbors, yet she never stopped making new friends. Her faith was important to her. She was an active member of St. Clare of Montefalco parish, and in later years St. Joan of Arc. She had a full life and was ready to be welcomed into Jesus’s loving arms.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Joan of Arc Church in St. Clair Shores on Tuesday, May 21 at noon.
