Mary Jane Orlando (nee Herbst) was born July 18, 1951 in Detroit, Michigan to Warren and Mildred (nee Bower) Herbst. She was a long time resident of Clinton Township. Mary Jane entered into rest on May 25, 2019 at the age of 67. Mary Jane leaves behind her high school sweetheart and beloved husband of 49 years, Anthony. Mary Jane is the dear mother of Kimberly Orlando, Stacy (Blaine Wing) Orlando, Courtney Boughton, Jaclyn (Eric Rincon) Orlando, and Todd Orlando. She is the treasured grandmother (Nana) of Carter Ray, Logan, and Warren. She is also survived by her sister, Rosemary. Mary Jane, through her faith in God, lived by and exhibited a profoundly faithful and positive outlook on life even during her difficult battle with ovarian cancer. Her strength and perseverance never wavered and she was a beacon of strength and comfort for her family. Mary Jane loved to share her joy of gardening, baking, and education with her grandsons and was often seen cuddling the boys on her lap while she read them stories, helped them with puzzles, and worked with them on their pre-school lessons. Mary Jane and her loving husband, Anthony, loved their weekend rides through the countryside, exploring antique and quilt shops and quaint little towns. She was a perfectionist with her creative passions and loved crocheting, sewing, and quilting. Mary Jane was a welcoming and compassionate soul who made friends easily and her home was often busy with the sounds of laughter and camaraderie from family and friends. Mary Jane is predeceased by her parents and her brother, David. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am on Friday May 31, 2019, at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr Rd. (at Masonic), Warren. Visitation for Mary Jane will be held on Thursday May 30, 2019 from 3:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. A committal service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Marine City following the funeral service.
