Jeanne E. Divozzo

Jeanne E. Gushue-DiVozzo Jeanne E. DiVozzo, 85, resident of Grosse Pointe Woods, passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, April 26, 2016. Born September 12, 1929 in Brigus, Newfoundland to Leonard and Edith Gushue. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Bart and Harold, and sisters, Florence, Jesse, Gladys and Doreen, and her beloved husband of 60 years Frank P. DiVozzo who passed in May, 2014. Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Corinne (Paul) Martin; son, Frank (Sandy) DiVozzo, grandchildren, Lashawn (Justin) DeVooght, Phil LaBarge, Marcinia (Dan) Harris, and great grandchildren, Alexandra and Grant DeVooght and George Melton. She is also survived by her brother Leonard, and sisters, Lillian, Violet and Mary, and her loving Bichon Sammy. Jeanne came to the United States and became a citizen in 1953. She was a lunchtime model for John Robert Powers at Hudson's downtown. It was there that she met Frank DiVozzo and married in 1954. Jeanne spent her working career as a automotive trim production supervisor for Fisher Body which later became the Inland Division of General Motors. She spent 3 years working in Mexico as the first female supervisor which was a memorable experience for her. Once retired, Jeanne focused on her family and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her favorite pastime was Sunday lunch and shopping trips with her daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter as she felt blessed to have 4 generations together. A memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Thursday, May 5 at A.H. Peters in Grosse Pointe Woods. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grosse Pointe Animal Adoption Society at 296 Chalfonte Ave, Grosse Pointe Farms, MI 48236.
