Eleanor J. MacPherson

ELEANOR JUSTINE MACPHERSON, age 94 of Chesterfield Township and formerly Eastpointe, passed away October 13, 2016. She was born in Detroit on February 22, 1922; the daughter of Daniel and Mary Darin. Eleanor was a longtime member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church in Eastpointe. She was a community volunteer for MCrest, Red Cross and Meals on Wheels. Eleanor was an avid reader and loved the classics. Her intelligence and literary flair supported her boundless proficiency in a great many things. Although, she was never a contestant, she could quickly provide the questions to Jeopardy. Eleanor's vast knowledge and spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Beloved wife of the late John "Jack". Loving mother of John (Carol), Bruce (Charlotte), Tom (Kathy), Mark (Nancy), Mary Hadley and Alex (Barbara). Treasured grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 1. Dear sister of Dan (Pat) Darin. Eleanor's family will receive friends on Sunday, October 16th from 2:00pm until 8:00pm at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 32000 Schoenherr at Masonic (13-1/2 Mile), Warren. A funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, October 17th at 10:00am at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to MCrest or Meals on Wheels would be appreciated by the family.
