David Snyder was born on July 8, 1935 in War, West Virginia. He joined the Marines at 16 years old. After leaving the Marines as an airplane mechanic, he worked at Ford Motor Company as a welder repairman for 40 years.
He was a deacon and longtime member of Ryan Road Baptist Church. He lived for his family and cherished the times he spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was an avid sports fan and always looked forward to baseball season as the Detroit Tigers were his favorite. He enjoyed the company of others and was loved by those who met him.
He will be greatly missed as he went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2021. He is survived by his wife Nancy, son Tim (Jeanna) Snyder, daughter Tammy Turner, grandchildren Emily (Jon) Cagle and Jason Turner, and great-grandchildren Katrina Cagle and Raelynn Turner.
Visitation Friday May 7th from 4 to 8 PM at A.H. Peters Funeral Home, 20705 Mack Ave, Grosse Pointe Woods, MI 48236. Funeral service Saturday May 8th at 2 PM at the funeral home. David will be interred at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
