Mr. George W. Smith Jr.

Mr. Smith was born March 17, 1935 son of the late George Washington Smith, Sr. and the late Lillian Myrtle Polk Smith. He was a member of Carver Road Baptist Church and was a veteran of the National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, going on walks and traveling.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Smith of Griffin; sons, George Anthony Smith and his fiancé, Rita Arnold of Brooks; son & daughter-in-law, Tim & Jamie Smith of Jacksonville, FL; grandson, Michael & Jennifer Smith of Columbia, S.C.; granddaughters, Tonya & Jimmy Treadwell of Milner, GA, Sydney Smith and McKenzie Smith both of Jacksonville, FL; great-grandsons, Tyler Treadwell, Dillon Treadwell, Hunter Treadwell, Logan Smith; great-granddaughter, Ava Smith and brothers, Bobby Smith and Tommy Smith both of Griffin.

Funeral services for Mr. George W. Smith, Jr. will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home. Pastor Tom Summers will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Thursday from 12 noon until the time of service
